چکیده

Abstract In this paper, the geometrical effects of shallow twin lined tunnels with different cross sections are investigated to obtain anti-plane seismic ground motion under vertical/horizontal incident plane SH waves. A model long two-dimensional is established and embedded in a homogeneous linear elastic half-plane by an applied numerical time-domain boundary element approach. addition brief introduction formulation method, considering five tunnel including circular, elliptical, horseshoe, square rectangular, surface response sensitized observe normalized displacement amplitude/amplification ratio. regard, angle wave frequency also included changing pattern. To illustrate results both time domains, they presented as blanket charts, snapshots, three-/two-dimensional diagrams. The showed that extremely affected geometric parameters underground tunnels, which can create conditions on shifting direction wavefront. Study of the Effect of Seismic Behavior of Twin Tunnels Position on Each Other

Excavation of shallow tunnels such as subways in urban areas plays a significant role as a life line and investigation of the soil behavior against tunnel construction is one of the vital subjects studied in the geotechnical scope. Nowadays, urban tunnels are mostly drilled by T.B.Ms and changing the applied forces to tunnel lining is one of the most risky matters while drilling tunnels by thes...

Free Vibration Analysis of BNNT with Different Cross-Sections via Nonlocal FEM

In the present study, free vibration behaviors of of carbon nanotube (CNT) and boron nitride nanotube (BNNT) have been investigated via Eringen’s nonlocal continuum theory. Size effect has been considered via nonlocal continuum theory. Nanotubes have become popular in the world of science thanks to their characteristic properties. In this study, free vibrations of Boron Nitride Nanotube (BNNT) ...

Steel-lined Pressure Tunnels and Shafts in Anisotropic Rock

For the design of steel-lined pressure tunnels and shafts in anisotropic rock, it is common practice to assume for the computation that the system stands in isotropic medium with the lowest stiffness measured in situ. In this paper, stresses and displacements in the steel liner of a particular steel-lined pressure tunnel are numerically assessed taking into account the anisotropic behavior of t...

seismic ground response analysis of unsaturated soil deposits

seismic ground motion is profoundly affected by geometrical and mechanical properties of soil deposits overlaying bedrock. local seismic ground response of saturated soil deposits was studied in literature by applying the effects of soil stress state and index properties on the strain-dependent normalized shear modulus reduction, g/g0, and damping ratio, d, curves in an equivalent linear analys...

Experimental study of the aerodynamic noise radiated by cylinders with different cross-sections and yaw angles

Vortex shedding from cylinders has been extensively studied due to its occurrence in many engineering fields. Many experimental studies reported in the literature focus on the aerodynamics of the vortex shedding process but the literature about the radiated noise is more scarce. The aim of the work presented here is to extend the available noise data. Aero-acoustic wind tunnel tests were carrie...
